Quality Inspector – 1st Shift

A well-established precision manufacturer serving the aerospace and industrial components industry is seeking a Quality Inspector to join its team on 1st shift. This company has been in business for over 70 years and is known for producing highly engineered, mission-critical components used worldwide. Position Overview:

This is a hands-on inspection role in a machine shop environment—ideal for an experienced inspector who is confident with precision measurement and calibration processes. The inspector will be responsible for ensuring all components meet stringent aerospace quality standards, coordinating gauge calibration, and documenting inspection results with accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform in-process, final, and incoming inspections on precision-machined parts.

  • Use micrometers, calipers, height gauges, optical comparators, profilometers, and other precision tools.

  • Accurately measure down to tenths (0.0001”).

  • Read and interpret blueprints with a working knowledge of GD&T (flatness, perpendicularity, parallelism).

  • Document inspection results manually, ensuring full traceability.

  • Oversee and coordinate gauge calibration, including scheduling with external calibration providers.

  • Collaborate with machinists, assemblers, and engineers to resolve quality issues.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED (verification required).

  • 2+ years of quality inspection experience in a precision machining environment.

  • Proficiency with precision measurement tools and calibration processes.

  • Ability to document inspection results by hand with strong attention to detail.

  • Moldable, motivated, and able to work independently.

Nice to Have:

  • Background in aerospace, medical, or automotive machining.

  • Experience with calibration program oversight.

  • Exposure to ISO-certified quality systems.

Schedule & Pay:

  • 1st shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (option to start at 5:00 AM).

  • Overtime available (up to 10 hours/week).

  • Pay range: $24 – $28/hr depending on experience and calibration expertise.
