Job Description:
Raritan Valley Community College's Office of Career Success & Experiential Learning is currently accepting applications for a Work Study, Social Media & Marketing Assistant.
Under the supervision of the Office's Support Specialist, with assistance from the department, the Student Social Media & Marketing Assistant performs a variety of duties related to supporting the Office of Career Success & Experiential Learning.
Essential Duties:
Greeting office guests (students, parents, faculty/administrators/staff, and employers) in a professional and courteous manner, answering inquiries and directing visitors to the appropriate individual or office.
Staffing the Office of Career Success & Experiential Learning outreach stations around campus.
Maintaining office information boards.
Photocopying and filing.
Creating flyers/posters/videos to promote events.
Making telephone calls and sending emails.
Data Entry/Database Management.
Assisting with event planning.
Conducting research, including web-based research, as part of departmental outcomes assessment procedures/process.
Assisting with creating and scheduling daily social publishing and promotion, maintenance, engagement, monitoring and issue escalation/response for all social media accounts and the RV Connect Mobile App.
Supporting events by posting relevant information online to promote the events.
Assisting with collecting photos and videos for events and posting on social media platforms.
Liaising with other media outlets on campus such as the Marketing Department, The Record - Online Student Newspaper, Radio/DJ Club, etc.
Other duties, appropriate to the student's skills and abilities, as assigned by the Career Success and Experiential Learning Department.
Requirements:
Must be a current full-time or part-time RVCC student with Federal Work Study eligibility.
Must be in good academic standing.
Excellent customer service skills, the ability to work independently, excellent oral and written communication skills and a positive attitude.
Professional and pleasant phone manner.
Good organizational skills and ability to follow directions.
Data entry/data management experience (knowledge of MS Word, Excel)
Knowledge of visual design and communication tools.
Internet researching ability.
Strong sense of ethics; understand and follow principles of confidentiality in all aspects of work.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Teams, Outlook 365, Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, etc.) and Google Workspace; knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite desired.
Familiar with current Social Media Platforms i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Discord, and RV Connect.
