Position Title: Polysomnographic Technologist (Full-Time)
Location: Center for Sleep and Wake Disorders, Chevy Chase, Maryland
Employment Type: Full-Time (Overnight Shift)
The Center for Sleep and Wake Disorders is seeking a skilled and compassionate Polysomnographic Technologist to join our team in Chevy Chase, Maryland. This part-time overnight position involves conducting comprehensive sleep studies, analyzing sleep data, and collaborating with physicians to support patient care. The ideal candidate will be a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) with a Maryland license, prior experience in sleep medicine, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care across all age groups.
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform comprehensive polysomnographic studies, including diagnostic and therapeutic sleep studies, on patients of all ages.
Accurately analyze and interpret sleep data, identifying abnormalities and preparing detailed reports.
Collaborate with physicians to provide actionable feedback on sleep study results to support diagnosis and treatment planning.
Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant records and documentation related to sleep studies.
Assist in the implementation and integration of new sleep lab technologies and protocols.
Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on sleep study equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
Ensure a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment for patients during overnight studies.
Required Certifications:
Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) credential.
Valid Maryland state license for polysomnographic technologists.
Experience:
Prior experience in sleep medicine, including conducting and interpreting polysomnographic studies.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong understanding of medical terminology, particularly in sleep medicine.
Exceptional patient care skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients of all age groups.
Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting sleep study data.
Ability to troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on sleep lab equipment.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with physicians and healthcare teams.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills for accurate record-keeping.
Availability:
Ability to work overnight shifts on a full-time schedule.
Hourly Rate: $36–$40 per hour, based on experience.
