About the Role:

The 2's Lead Teacher at PLAYTO LLC will play a pivotal role in shaping the early educational experiences of young preschoolers in our care. This position is responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that promotes the cognitive, emotional, and social development of each child. With the support of our Education Director, the Lead 2's Teacher will design and implement age-appropriate curricula that engage 2 year olds through play and exploration, fostering a love for learning from an early age. Additionally, this role involves collaborating with parents and caregivers to ensure a holistic approach to each child's development. Ultimately, the Lead Teacher will contribute to building a strong foundation for lifelong learning and development in our youngest learners.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education OR related field and NYS Teacher Certification or BA in ECE and 2 years supervised experience in a regulated child care setting or DOH approved study plan

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
  • Experience with curriculum development and implementation for 2's.
  • Familiarity with DOH regulations and best practices in early childhood education.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum tailored to the developmental needs of 2 year olds.
  • Create a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning.
  • Observe and assess each child's progress, providing feedback and support to parents and caregivers.
  • Collaborate with fellow educators and staff to ensure a cohesive approach to early childhood education.
  • Maintain accurate records of children's development and communicate regularly with families about their child's progress.

Skills:

The required skills for this position include strong communication and interpersonal abilities, which are essential for building relationships with infants, parents, and colleagues. Organizational skills are crucial for planning and executing daily activities and maintaining accurate records of each child's development. Creativity is also important, as the Lead Teacher will need to design engaging and age-appropriate learning experiences. We do have a curriculum that we follow and will train. Additionally, patience and empathy are vital in understanding and responding to the needs of infants. Preferred skills, such as knowledge of child development theories, will enhance the Lead Teacher's ability to create effective learning environments and support each child's unique growth journey.
