pstrongspanThe starting rate for this position is $23.42, incremental increases are earned through developing skills and qualifications./span/strong/p pstrongspanSummary  br //span/strong/p pspanUnder the direction of the Manager, oversees the performance of a section of houses while supporting Animal Caretakers. Will communicate directly with the Manager regarding issues involving the designated area./span/p pstrongspanKey Responsibilities/span/strong/p ul lispanEnsures animal health and welfare by performing regular inspections of houses. Continuously monitor bird health and body weights of pullets in houses reporting findings to Pullet/Production Manager/span/li lispanAssure chickens have proper supply of feed, light, air and water daily/span/li lispanDemonstrate a complete understanding of poultry husbandry including chick brooding, nutrition, vaccinating, necropsy, and blood work/span/li lispanProvides direction to Animal Caretakers.  Answer employee questions, help with problems and oversee work for quality and guideline compliance/span/li lispanAssist Manager in training of new employees and annual training /span/li lispanLead and perform tasks associated with moving birds in and out of houses to include handling bird moving equipment and cleaning with pneumatic or pressurized water. Notify Manager of issues./span/li lispanCoordinates preventative maintenance and daily operations between animal caretakers and Production Manager to reduce or minimize production interruptions and maximize efficiencies./span/li lispanEnsures all company safety practices, policies and procedures are being followed by all employees as prescribed by Management./span/li lispanRespond to alarm/emergency calls when they occur/span/li lispanInventory and document supplies needed for their section./span/li lispanEnsure safe working conditions by inspecting and monitoring work areas, tools, and equipment/span/li lispanPerform other duties as assigned/span/li /ul pstrongspanQualifications/span/strong/p pspanTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
