Job Description
Sunland Group, Inc. is seeking a Preconstruction Cost Manager to join our team. In this role, you will support the Project Management and Construction Management Team in meeting our clients’ design-side estimating needs for a multitude of projects ranging in size and markets. The Senior Cost Estimator will interface with members of the Project Team and Owner Representatives to produce cost estimates at different stages, from initial concept to detailed design, ensuring the project remains within budget and feasible.
Essential Functions:
- Rough order of magnitude (ROM) estimate- using parametric cost estimation methods
- Conceptual/Preliminary Estimating- Conducted early in the design phase to assess project feasibility and establish a preliminary budget
- Design Development Estimating- More detailed, factoring in materials, labor, and other cost factors as the design matures
- Maintain and update internal project cost databases to optimize estimating accuracy and efficiency
- Assist in cost reconciliations against contractor and/or third-party estimates
- Ability to collaborate and coordinate with key personnel to evaluate and assess budgets to prepare full project estimates
Requirements:
- Possesses the knowledge of and can utilize industry cost databases, software systems, and standards to produce completed estimates
- Ability to estimate both vertical and horizontal elements
- 10+ years of construction cost estimating as described above
- Takes ownership in all assignments and/or delegated tasks
- Team player, excellent interpersonal skills and a cooperative attitude
- Analytical skills and attention to detail
- Responsible, ethical, and conscientious nature
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills
- Ability to read and understand plans and specifications for majority of disciplines
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or similar field of study preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Preferences:
- Knowledge of CostOs, Planswift or similar estimating software
