**At least 2+ years ED RN experience required
\n **Must have at least 1+ year of travel experience

\n

**BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC required
\n **NO 48hr weekly guarantees
\n **Blocked scheduling may be requested
\n **Experience as a preceptor and/or charge preferred but not required. Willingness to help precept eventually is required but not immediately

General Comments

\n

Expected to be able to handle all patients from ESI level 1-5. 
\n Must be able to take 4-5:1 ratio, assuming ESI level 3 average patient
\n Must be able to take care of stroke, STEMI, trauma, and sepsis patients
\n Must be able to triage and assess patients quickly. Department works as a team. We direct to bed whenever possible. 
\n ER RNs must be able to perform all clinical skills including, but not limited to, PIV, NG/OG tubes, foleys, splinting, wound care. US guided IV available. 
\n Must know how to assist with art line, central line and chest tube placement. 
\n Must be willing to answer call lights and transport patients. We do not have inpatient psych unit so we do board psych patients in the ER until placement is found. 
\n On nights and weekends, ED RNs are required to make calls for psych patient placement. 
\n All RNs at this facility are required to be willing float to task in other departments if not needed in the ED Agency and Permanent staff are placed in same float rotation. Average float out of ED is 1 shift in 13 week period. EMR is EDIS Medhost. 
\n Medication Dispense is Omnicell. We do NOT currently have Bar Code Medication Administration (scanning) in the ED Department. 
\n On night shift, ER RNs do have to mix some medication drips with vial to bag adapter. 
\n ED RNs are responsible for ensuring appropriate EMTALA paperwork is completed per regulatory guidelines for hospital policies.
\n Required: triage, PIV, port access/deacess, foley placement, NG/OG placement, wound care, splint/OCL application
\n Preferred: US guided IV
\n Facility size: 93 beds
\n Number of bed in unit: 11
\n Monthly Dept Volume: 1100 patients
\n Scope of role: Serve patients presenting to the ER of all ages from neonates to elderly. We are designated as Level III trauma center, ACC Chest Pain/STEMI center, and Joint Commission Acute Ready Stroke Center
\n Level III Trauma center, STEMI, Stroke ready. Small ED but high acuity.
\n Scrubs = Any solid color
\n EMR = MEDHOST EDIS
