Salary Info: $25- 30/hour depending on experience; 24 hours sick pay per year
Approximately 32-38 hours per week.

Job Summary:
Responsible for providing one-on-one instruction to a single 14 year old special needs student with vision impairment and providing him mod-max assistance with all activities for daily living (ADL) during the school day. Reading is at 3rd grade level and Math is at middle school level.

A Private Homeschool registered with CA Department of Education is now hiring for a dynamic Special Education Teacher to join our small team in Westlake Village, CA (Ventura County) area.

We are looking for a teacher who is passionate about creating meaningful learning experiences for a student with special needs absent the distractions of a large classroom. Our ideal candidate is organized, creative, pays attention to detail, a problem solver, and genuinely interested in students success. Duties:
  • Utilize computer to reformat work for students visual needs. Templates provided does not require knowledge of vision impairment.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of lesson plans that are designed to meet student needs. Curriculum is provided.
  • Provide one-on-one instruction daily.
  • Implement individualized student-centered learning experiences
  • Assist with monitoring student performance
  • Provide for the safety and well-being of student. Student uses a wheelchair and does require assistance with all activities for daily living (ADL) such as eating and bathroom use.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Education OR Special Education OR related field and/or related experience preferred
  • Computer Knowledge PowerPoint, Excel, Word
  • Fluency in reading/writing English
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to work independently
  • Problem solver
  • All candidates must also pass a background check
Job Type: Monday Friday
Day shift: 7am-2:15pm. Some overnight hours available if interested.

Bachelors Degree in Education, Special Education, or related Field and/or related experience
