Position Summary

Newman Regional Health (NRH), a leading critical access hospital located in Emporia, Kansas, is seeking a full-time Hospitalist/Inpatient Medical Rehabilitation Director to join our dedicated team. This position offers a competitive salary and the opportunity to work within a top-quality Hospitalist team and Inpatient Rehabilitation department. We are committed to patient-centered care and a collaborative approach to healthcare. This position is a Monday-Friday position.

Our 10-bed acute inpatient medical rehabilitation unit offers patients the opportunity to recover from serious illness, injury, or debility close to home, and includes a simulated living suite for occupational therapy. Our facility provides the only such program inside a critical access hospital in Kansas.

At Newman Regional Health, our hospitalist program includes a team of healthcare providers who provide care for inpatients and outpatient observation patients. You will work closely with our emergency room physicians and a wide range of specialty physicians and clinical departments.

This position offers a meaningful opportunity to serve a diverse patient population while collaborating with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. The Hospitalist/ Inpatient Medical Rehabilitation Director will collaborate with the entire clinical team to provide medical direction in conformance with the facility’s policies and procedures, state and federal laws and regulations.

Skills & Qualifications

·        Educational Requirements: MD or DO degree with board certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine

·        Experience: Clinical experience including work in rehabilitative services and  proven Hospitalist experience

·        Licensure: Currently licensed to practice medicine in Kansas

·        Interpersonal Skills: Strong community engagement and communication skills
