Machining Technician - Pressure Testing

We have provided high quality re-manufactured diesel and gas engines and components for over 70 years. A family owned and operated company that has grown into the largest independently owned and operated engine re-manufacturer in North America. We currently have a 1st Shift Manufacturing Technician position focused on pressure testing engine blocks at our Company Headquarters, conveniently located off 694 and University Avenue in Fridley, MN.

Join our team as a Pressure Testing Technician, where your work will play a critical role in verifying the integrity and reliability of our remanufactured engine blocks.

Responsibilities:

• Perform pressure testing of engine blocks and cylinder heads to identify leaks, cracks, or other structural defects.
• Set up, operate, and monitor test equipment, following established testing procedures and safety protocols.
• Accurately record and document test results, noting any failures, anomalies, or quality concerns.
• Clean and prepare engine blocks prior to testing to ensure accurate results.
• Work closely with machinists, quality inspectors, and assembly technicians to communicate findings and determine next steps.
• Ensure testing equipment is maintained in proper working condition, reporting any malfunctions or calibration needs.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized testing area at all times.
• Support continuous improvement efforts by suggesting process enhancements and identifying opportunities to reduce defects.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing, machining, or mechanical testing environment preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to follow detailed testing procedures.
• Ability to read and understand technical instructions, drawings, and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify irregularities.
• Good communication skills to document findings and collaborate with team members.
• Basic computer/data entry skills for recording test results.
• Willingness to work in a hands-on, fast-paced environment.

Work Environment/Physical Demand:

• Fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing setting.
• Shop floor environment is typically loud, hot and humid in the summer months, and involves standing for long periods on cement floors with exposure to chemicals and metal particles.
• PPE required on manufacturing floor at all times.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.

Pay: We offer salaries and opportunities for career growth. Starting pay for this position typically falls within the range of $20-$22 per hour.. corresponding with experience.
