Host/Food Runner

You serve as the face of the business for one of the busiest, biggest bars in Ann Arbor, proudly welcoming and greeting our guests. You bring a respectful and cheerful attitude to each shift as you monitor the table rotation and seat our guests comfortably. You’re a core team member as you’re the first point of interaction for our high-volume, energetic college-aged crowds who are eager to celebrate, catch a game, dance, and enjoy a beverage/meal. You also fulfill a critical role as you team with the kitchen and server staff to deliver food to guests in a friendly, professional and knowledgeable manner.

Responsibilities:

• Completes standard processes using Good Time Charley’s endorsed methods

• Supports other team members to ensure smooth operations and a seamless customer experience

• Greet and make customers feel welcome

• Completes side work with professionalism and commitment to quality

• Controls flow of seating; manages ebb and flow and ensures even table rotation

• Brings a positive attitude every shift and treats everyone (clients and colleagues alike) with respect

• Maintains composure, remains calm and patient despite dynamic, fast-paced environment

• Is consistent with service approach and models organization’s values

• Along with the rest of the team, helps with general bussing and conducts light cleaning

• Performs opening and closing duties with thoroughness and attention to detail

• Uses excellent customer service and displays friendliness throughout the course of every shift

• Ensure guest satisfaction and maximizing financial success of our restaurant by leveraging effective communication skills; builds long-term relationships

• Presents restaurant (and patio) at its best with a strong commitment to cleanliness

Need to know:

Our restaurant layout may require you to negotiate two flights of stairs

Food Runners may carry up to 25 lbs on a tray each shift

Must be available for ALL University of Michigan football home games

Hosts are required to wear dressy casual attire

No experience required, but is preferred – great entry level position!
