Certified Dental Assistant

The dental assistant services will be performed in the Health Services department at the USP and SPC, both facilities located at 1197 Airport Road, Inez, Kentucky 41224.

The individual providing dental assistant services must have had formal training as a dental assistant with at least 2 years documented experience or hold a current certification in this area. If the contractor has obtained certification in the field of dental assistant, he/she must obtain the required continuing education to maintain the certification, and must provide the COR a copy of the updated current certification

~~• Assist the dentist during dental procedures
• Assist in maintaining accountability and sterilization of instruments
• Become proficient in BEMR (the inmate electronic medical record)
• Conduct him/herself in a professional manner around inmates
• Any other tasks deemed necessary by the dentist while adhering to the general practice of a dental assistant

Hours 7:30 -2:00, 30 minute unpaid lunch (30 hours per week) , vacation, 10 paid Holidays and Health Insurance.
