We are looking for a skilled AR / Collections Specialist to join our team in Houston, Texas. In this Contract-to-permanent role, you will play a critical part in managing accounts receivable operations and driving successful collections processes within a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities:
• Manage accounts receivable processes, including B2B collections and cash applications, to ensure timely and accurate transactions.
• Analyze customer accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies, ensuring proper billing and cash activity.
• Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams to negotiate payment terms and resolve outstanding balances.
• Utilize intermediate-level Excel skills, including pivot tables and formulas, to streamline reporting and data analysis.
• Take initiative in identifying opportunities for process improvement within collections and AR workflows.
• Collaborate closely with the team to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and contribute to overall department success.
• Conduct credit risk analysis to assess customer payment behavior and minimize financial exposure.
• Maintain accurate documentation of customer interactions, payment agreements, and account status updates.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures while maintaining a high standard of customer service.• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in B2B collections or accounts receivable.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and formulas; experience with macros is a plus.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Proven ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-starter mentality with a commitment to achieving team goals and meeting deadlines.
• Familiarity with credit risk analysis and performance metrics.
• Prior experience in manufacturing, healthcare, or B2B environments is preferred.
• Ability to maintain effective relationships while efficiently managing collections processes.
