Job Description
A Vice President (VP) of Mortgage Banking is responsible for overseeing all aspects of a mortgage lending operation, including strategy, policy, compliance, and team management, to drive business growth and profitability.
. Key responsibilities involve developing loan strategies, managing loan origination and processing teams, ensuring regulatory compliance, analyzing market trends, and fostering relationships with clients and partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning:
Develop and implement strategies to achieve lending goals, grow the loan portfolio, and expand lending programs.
- Operational Oversight:
Oversee the entire mortgage loan process, from origination to closing, ensuring efficiency and adherence to policies.
- Team Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and train mortgage lending teams, including loan officers, processors, and underwriters, to meet performance standards and achieve department goals.
- Compliance & Risk Management:
Ensure strict compliance with all applicable financial regulations, laws, and company policies. Manage credit risk through sound underwriting and portfolio monitoring.
- Market Analysis:
Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions to make informed decisions on lending products and strategies.
- Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal departments, external financial partners, and clients.
- Performance Reporting:
Prepare and present regular reports on lending operations, including portfolio quality, loan volume, and profitability, to senior management and potentially the Board of Directors.
