Position Title: Receiving Clerk
Department: Grocery Department
Position Reports To: Grocery Manager

Position Summary:
Back Door Receiver will be responsible for ordering, loading, and unloading truck deliveries. DSD Procedures and 
Reclamation. 
Essential Job Functions:
 Load and unload all truck deliveries.
 Must be able to meet all productivity standards.
 Keep back room stock areas and salvage areas organized.
 Keep supply area organized and clean.
 Face shelving.
 Help maintain sanitation conditions in entire store, including the backroom.
 Must be proficient in CAO procedures and reports.
 Maintain Vendor relations.
 Check in and verify all vendor products.
 Responsible for maintaining vendor sets.
 Responsible for reclamation and maintain reclamation/receiving area.
 Responsible for Key Retailing functions as related to the receiving are. 
 Reclamations completed and sent out weekly.
 May be required to order merchandise.
 Bag and carry out customer’s groceries. 
 Able to communicate with customers and associates.
 Be prompt, tactful, calm, courteous, and professional in all interactions.
 Adhere to company policies & procedures, particularly in the areas of dress code, grooming, sanitation, and 
maintenance of a work environment free of unlawful harassment or discrimination.
 Perform any and all duties as assigned.

Minimum Position Qualifications:
 Willing and available to work weekends and holidays as needed
 Effective written and oral communication skills.
 Available and able to perform stock clerk duties and customer service duties as scheduled or assigned.
 Qualified and able to operate power machinery and work with various job tools (box cutters, label guns, balers, 
compactors, jacks, etc.)
 Must be able to read shelf tags, signs, product labels, training materials, bulletins, etc. 
 Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment and willingness to help all members of the 
department.
 Able to calmly, courteously and tactfully handle stressful situations and make a positive impression on 
associates and customers.

Physical Demands:
 Standing & Walking – Frequent standing & walking on concrete and/or tile. Estimated total time 7.5 hrs. 
Maximum continuous time up to 4 hrs.
 Sitting – Rarely required. Estimated total time 30 mins. Maximum continuous time 30 mins.
 Lifting & Carrying – Max weight 135 lbs., average weight 25 lbs., distance carried 1-5 feet. Must frequently 
lift items under 10 lbs. and items between 11-25 lbs., occasionally 26-100 lbs. and rarely lift over 100 lbs.
 Pushing and Pulling – Frequent pushing and pulling pallet jacks, grocery carts, flatbed carts, and U-boats 
through the store. 
 Other – This position also requires frequent handling, moving, grasping, bending, squatting, and kneeling, as 
well as constant use of either arm or both for reaching in all directions. Other requirements include twisting, 
neck flexion/extension, cervical rotation, high grip strength, frequent forearm movement, and frequent or 
sustained awkward wrist positions.
 Work Conditions – Exposure to hot and cold temperatures, sudden changes in temperature, cramped quarters, 
hammering or impact tools & sharp edges.
