MUST:
Experienced Medical Assistant Medical Assistant - Cardiology
Must have experience working front and back office
2+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant - Cardiology
2+ years of experience as a Medical Receptionist / front desk
2+ years of experience assisting in a medical office
2+ years of experience in Cardiology
Must have EMR experience
Must have experience w/ EKGs
Must be able to use medical shorthand
Must be able to transcribe doctor's notes
Must be able to perform, injections, vaccines, casting, and occupational health tests/screens
Must assist in office with other duties as needed
DUTIES:
Greet patients and visitors, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries.
Optimizes patients satisfaction, provider time, and exam room utilization by efficiently and accurately scheduling appointments.
Maintain patient appointments on schedule by verifying patient insurance benefits and eligibility prior to the appointment.
Remind patients of their appointment the day before.
Register and check in patients in a timely manner.
Prepare necessary documents for the visit.
Notify the provider of patients late arrival.
Reschedule or move late arriving patients when necessary.
Provides instructions and directions to patients regarding diagnostic tests, procedures, and treatments.
Answers patient questions and maintains a clean and presentable front office reception area.
Respond to patient calls and emails within a timely manner.
Ensures that patient demographics and insurance information are accurate and up to date in the EMR system.
Escort patients to exam rooms, interview patients, measure vital signs, including weight, manual blood pressure, EKGS, pulse and temperature, and document all information in the patients EMR chart.
Prepping and placement of heart monitors, INR fingersticks and treadmill setup.
Obtain and records patient medical history, vital signs, medical dosage, and frequency (have some familiarity with refill protocol) and obtain authorization for medications when necessary.
Maintain stocks of machines and medical supplies as necessary.
Disinfects and cleans treatment rooms following patient examinations; maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment.
Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies and properly dispose of contaminated supplies.
Protects patients rights by maintaining the confidentiality of personal and financial information per HIPAA regulations.
Other duties as assigned.
