Job Description
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for educators specializing in teaching students with visual impairments in an early childhood school setting located south of San Antonio, TX. This role focuses on providing tailored educational support to young learners, including potential new enrollees with unique visual needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized educational plans for students with visual impairments.
- Provide specialized instruction to acmodate the visual needs of young learners.
- Collaborate with families and interdisciplinary teams to support student development.
- Conduct assessments or participate in the evaluation process as necessary.
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and instructional strategies.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Certification or specialized training in Teaching Students with Visual Impairments (TVI).
- Experience working with early childhood populations.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student needs, including those with prosthetic eyes or other unique conditions.
- Strong munication skills to work effectively with families and staff.
- Part-time availability from August 11, 2025, through May 21, 2026.
