Job Description:

This position is responsible for testing, analyzing, and reporting accurate and timely results in both the Miscellaneous Wet Chemistry and Sample Coordinating, Intake and Processing (SCIP) lab. These fast-paced, high-volume commercial labs use wet chemistry, high-tech instrumentation, and food processing techniques to test food samples ranging from ingredients to finished products. Sample preparation is the first stage of the sample life cycle, and it is crucial that all steps (processing, aliquoting, labeling, and storage) are completed correctly to ensure accuracy of lab testing. Results are used by customers to support food label claims.

  • Ensure accurate labeling of sample cups with unique identifiers and log details into LIMS software.
  • Comply with ISO 17025 quality requirements; identify and address quality control issues and complete investigations as needed.
  • Perform instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and participate in continuous improvement efforts.
