Nursing Director - Emergency - $10,000 Sign-On Bonus

Forrest City Medical Center is your community medical provider, serving Eastern Arkansas and its residents with physical therapy, radiology imaging, women’s center and senior care. Forrest City Medical Center is a118 bed Acute Care facility located 40 minutes west of Memphis, TN and less than 90 miles for Little Rock, AR.

The Emergency Nursing Department Director position involves overseeing the operations of the emergency department, managing staff, and ensuring high-quality patient care. Responsibilities include leading the team, managing departmental budgets, and implementing strategies to improve patient experience and care delivery.

Job Summary:

  • Key Responsibilities include develop and implement departmental goals aligned with the hospital's mission and strategic objectives.
  • Lead and inspire clinical and administrative staff within the ED to maintain high moral, strong teamwork, and a culture of accountability.
  • Oversee daily operations of the ED ensuring appropriate staffing, resource allocation, and patient flow.
  • Ensure 24/7 readiness for emergency services, disaster preparedness, and mass casualty incidents.
  • Monitor performance indicators such as wait times, throughput, patient satisfaction, and clinical outcomes.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality care that meets or exceeds regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g., CMS, Joint Commission).
  • Facilitate peer review, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and manage the departmental budget, including staffing, supplies, and capital expenditures.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Support risk management and patient safety initiatives.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and retain qualified emergency department staff.
  • Promote ongoing education, certification, and leadership development for team members.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and coach for improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Active RN Licensure in the State of Arkansas.
  • Bachelor's degree (BSN), Masters degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years' progressive leadership experience in emergency services or acute care.
  • ACLS, PALS, BLS certifications.
  • Strong background in clinical operations, patient flow, and emergency response management.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills required.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced clinical and administrative environment.
  • Requires occasional evening, weekend, and on-call hours.
