Electrical Engineer Intern - Full-time / Part-time

pstrongELECTRICAL ENGINEER INTERN/strong/p pEngineering interns work alongside electrical engineers and project management personnel to support the company’s Technical Services Division in delivering a comprehensive suite of services for our customers.nbsp; Students will be exposed to both an office and field work environment within utility substations, non-utility electrical rooms and substations, wind farm facilities, solar generation facilities, municipal water, and sewer treatment plants, along with other electrical construction environments.nbsp; Field work will be conducted under the supervision of engineering and electrical technician personnel./p pInternships at O’Connell Electric offer students’ great opportunities to incorporate classroom learning into professional, real world situations./p pstrongTypical activities throughout an internship include, but are not limited to:/strong/p ul liAttending project meetings/li liPreparing project documentation including drawings, test sheets, schedules, etc./li liConducting site visits with assigned supervisor/li liGaining hands on field experience by participating in testing and commissioning tasks including: ul liLift/land logs and assisting electricians in wiring changes/li liRelay testing/li liCommunication and automation testing/li liField engineering drawings/li liDrawing markups/li liAssisting teams with apparatus testing/li liGeneral troubleshooting/li /ul /li liCreating data collection, one lines for field teams/li liCreating electrical models for engineering studies/li liAssisting with creating engineering reports/li liAnalyzing electrical waveforms and COMTRADE files for post event analysis/li liAssisting engineering team with troubleshooting and emergency calls/li /ul pstrongEducation Requirements and Key Competencies for Success:/strong/p ul liCurrent student as a sophomore – graduate level studies actively enrolled in an engineering or related undergraduate or graduate program/li liA desire to work in, or explore the field of electrical engineering/li liShould have completed some relevant coursework that can be applied to experiential learning during an internship/li liStrong technical writing, analytical and communication skills/li liDetail-oriented with a strong emphasis on quality work deliverables/li liStrong work ethic and a high level of integrity/li /ul pstrongCompensation:/strong/p pThe minimum and maximum annual salary (or hourly rates) that O’Connell Electric Company, Inc. believes in good faith to be accurate for this position at the time of this posting are $17.00 to $20.00 per hour./p pIt is important to O’Connell Electric that potential candidates for this position understand that compensation depends on numerous factors including the geographic location where the role will be performed, skills required, experience, complexity, travel, and market rate.
