pThe bAircraft Mechanic II (LUH-72) Aamp;P/b maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures and structural components of moderate difficulty./pullispanMaintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components./span/lilispanApplies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies required expertise in restoring equipment condition and or operation./span/lilispanRequires working knowledge of technical publications./span/lilispanMust be able to prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects./span/lilispanRemoves and installs aircraft subsystem assemblies and components such as engines, rotors, transmissions, mechanical flight controls and their components./span/lilispanServices and lubricates aircraft and subsystems./span/lilispanSafely prepares aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks and services./span/lilispanPerforms scheduled inspections and assists in performing special inspections./span/lilispanPerforms limited maintenance operational checks and diagnoses and troubleshoots aircraft systems using special tools and test equipment as required./span/lilispanUses and performs operator maintenance on tools, special tools, and aircraft ground support equipment./span/lilispanUses a thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures and replacement of parts./span/lilispanUses a knowledge of electrical theory and of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers./span/lilispanUses a working knowledge of technical publications and the Government STAMIS to make entries in aircraft logs and records./span/lilispanReceives technical assistance, as required, from higher-level technician./span/lilispanMay be designated as a Foreign Object Elimination/Foreign Object Debris (FOE/FOD) Program Administrator./span/lilispanAs qualified and when required can perform non-crew member duties./span/lilispanWhen required can use Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) for job duties./span/lilispanPerform other qualified duties as assigned./span/li/ulp/ppbMinimum Requirements/b/pullispanMust be able to Read, Write and Communicate effectively in English/span/lilispanMust be able to type using a standard keyboard to communicate through e-mail and software applications./span/lilispanThe incumbent receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician, will occasionally be required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks, and may be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records./span/lilispanMust be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for extended periods throughout the day./span/lilispanMust be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands./span/lilispanMust be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders./span/lilispanWill be required to handle dirty parts and lubricants./span/lilispanWill be required to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)./span/lilispanMust be able to pass a Respirator Physical and Fit Test qualification./span/lilispanMust be able to lift/push/pull minimum of 50 pounds./span/lilispanMust be able to work in a shop where the environment is drafty, noisy, and dirty./span/liliMust have three years aviation maintenance experience, three years rotary wing aircraft experience, and two years on the assigned MDS. All experience must be within the five most recent years./liliAll mechanics assigned to perform maintenance on FAA certified aircraft must meet FAA requirements. Valid FAA Aamp;P Certificate Required./liliShall possess the level of experience necessary to inspect all required aeronautical type maintenance to be performed by skill class Mechanic I and must have a combination of experience to repair engines, sheet metal, structural, hydraulic, electrical, power train and general mechanical maintenance of moderate difficulty, required to meet the assigned missions./liliShall have a thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, diagnosing problems, repair procedures and replacement of parts; requires broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair./liliShall have basic knowledge of electrical theory./liliShall have thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers/liliShall have a working knowledge of making entries in aircraft logbooks amp; records, military technical publications, and the Army#39;s Unit Level Logistics Aviation Information System, ULLSAE. /liliMust provide own tools/toolbox. Tools must be shadowed and etched with PID/liliValid Drivers License/liliHigh School Diploma or Equivalent required./liliMust be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays./liliAbility to travel based on operational requirements./liliMust be willspaning and able to work any shift, as assigned by Union/span/li/ulp/ppbClearance Requirements:/b/pulliMust be able to obtain and maintain a NACI(T1) Public Trust Security Clearance. Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
