pstrong Recovery Specialist Duties Responsibilities/strong/p
ul
li
pCompliance with Federal Regulations regarding 42 CFR Part 2; Confidentiality of Substance Use Disorder and HIPAA Regulations/p
/li
li
pPerform under the delegation authority of the RN / LPN working on the shift assigned/p
/li
li
pAttends and participates in charge of shift report with nursing staff at beginning and end of each shift/p
/li
li
pReviews and adheres to posted shift assignment at the start of shift/p
/li
li
pReports off to nurse when leaving the unit for any reason/p
/li
li
pObservation and accounting of al patient at all times to ensure safety, entering findings of patient status into the EHR at a minimum of hourly/p
/li
li
pObservation and reporting to the nurse signs of withdrawal and/or medical and behavioral changes/p
/li
li
pMonitor the milieu including bathrooms and group room for safe, clean and therapeutic environment at hourly and/or as needed/p
/li
li
pMonitor supplies necessary for showering and personal care to maintain individual hygiene/safety/p
/li
li
pUtilize Walkie-Talkies as campus responders and perform radio checks hurly when escorting patient off the unit/p
/li
li
pUnderstanding of emergency procedures and codes/p
/li
li
pMaintain therapeutic boundaries by setting limits and enforcing rules in a respectful manner/p
/li
li
pRemain calm in crisis/p
/li
li
pProcess new patient admission including the new EHR process, an inventory and documentation of clothing, electronic and valuables/p
/li
li
pEscorting patients to meal, groups, medical appointments within the facility and outdoor break/p
/li
li
pAssisting with discharges and escorting patients off the unit/p
/li
li
pFacilitate assigned groups/p
/li
li
pWork with the team to ensure consistent care/p
/li
li
pMonitor milieu as directed by the nurse during Medication Administration (ATS)/p
/li
li
pPerform Medication Monitoring during Observed Self-Administration (on CSS/TSS units) after completed training/p
/li
li
pPerform room searches and bag searches when directed/p
/li
li
pBe familiar with and adhere to the rights of patients as defined by DPH Patient Rights Standards (105 CMR 164.079)/p
/li
li
pEnsure the unit is neat and clean, performing end of shift duties to maintain a therapeutic environment for patients and staff/p
/li
li
pRestock supplies as needed/p
/li
li
pPrint daily census in preparation got next shift/p
/li
li
pAttend Supervision with assigned supervisor twice monthly and/or as needed based on status or concerns/p
/li
li
pAttend mandatory meetings/p
/li
li
pPerform any other duties as assigned by Recovery Specialist Supervisor, Nursing Staff, Nurse Manager, Program/Site Director/p

liMinimum of a high school diploma or equivalent GED/li
liOne year of experience in substance use treatment field is preferred but not required/li
