pstrongJob Description: /strongIt is the responsibility of the Substance Abuse Counselor I to provide drug and alcohol treatment to clients which includes face-to-face individual, group, and family counseling, as clinically appropriate. Chart documentation and case management services related to client treatment will be accomplished in accordance with all agency policies and procedures./p

pstrongPay Rate: /strong$18-20/Hour Billable Rate; $12/Hour Non-Billable Rate - Billable Rate Dependent on Experience/p

ul

pPossess and apply knowledge of drug and alcohol treatment and assessment principles and philosophies/p
/li
li
pComplete substance abuse assessments and stabilization services as needed/p
/li
li
pMaintain effective and efficient communication with direct supervisor and other administrative staff as required, in a timely and comprehensive manner/p
/li
li
pMaintain personal compliance with all training requirements and personnel documentation standards/p
/li
li
pComplete all personally required training as per Professional Development Plan/p
/li
li
pSubmit to Human Resources in a timely manner copies of all required documentation regarding degrees, licenses, certifications, clearances, and formal training/p
/li
li
pMaintain professional certifications and/or licensure and, when applicable, in the designated state(s)/p
/li
li
pPossess and apply knowledge of all laws, regulations, contractual requirements, and agency policies and procedures governing the services performed/p
/li
li
pPerform substance abuse treatment as defined by the program description, and best practice standards and in full compliance with licensure standards/p
/li
li
pPossess and apply knowledge of the standards and ethical principles of the best practice of drug and alcohol assessment and treatment/p
/li
li
pProvide quality services based on established best practice principles of care/p
/li
li
pMaintain quality documentation of service delivery/p
/li
li
pEstablish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, payers, community support service representatives, agency personnel, and the general public/p
/li
li
pEstablish and maintain strong working relationships with area drug and alcohol treatment facilities and hospitals/p
/li
li
pWork within a group to develop internal systems to improve or ensure quality services/p
/li
li
pParticipate in agency committees to develop and implement program/service enhancement/p
/li
li
pProvide the full spectrum of clinically indicated services and the supporting documentation/p
/li
li
pProvide all authorized client services and provide supporting documentation for re-authorizations, as necessary, in a timely manner/p
/li
li
pSubmit accurate and timely payroll and billing documentation/p
/li
li
pWork collaboratively with other treatment professionals/p
/li
li
pDevelop and implement treatment plans/p
/li
li
pProvide crisis assessment and stabilization services as necessary/p
/li
li
pPossess and apply knowledge of drug and alcohol treatment and assessment principles and philosophies/p
/li
li
pProvide direct services relevant to program requirements/p
/li
li
pConduct all scheduled individual and group sessions as dictated by client needs and program requirements/p
/li
li
pComplete accurate and timely clinical documentation, including but not limited to progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries/p
/li
li
pMonitor service effectiveness and make modifications to services based on supervisory and/or consultative feedback/p
/li
li
pParticipate in all required individual and peer supervision, as well as all applicable program staff meetings/p
/li
li
pComplete data entry and prepare clinical charts/p
/li

pstrongMinimum Requirements: /strong/p
pstrongEducation:/strong Bachelor’s degree in the behavioral health field or a minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent strongAND /strongExperience strongOR /strongLicensure/Certification requirements/p
pstrongExperience: /strongFive (5) years of documented clinical experience working in the field of substance abuse treatment /p
pstrongLicensure/Certification Requirements: /strongFull certification by a nationally recognized body in addiction counseling /p
pstrongRequired Clearances: /strongPennsylvania Child Abuse, Criminal and fingerprint-based federal criminal history; Verification that employee is not on any Medicaid/Medicare Exclusion list/p
pstrongNote:/strong At the discretion of the Personnel Officer, additional related experience and/or education may be substituted instead of the requirements specified under Education and Experience/p
