pDescription/ppustrongSUMMARY:/strong/unbsp;/ppProvides daily living support and assistance to individuals in one of the agency’s Community Integrated Living Arrangements under the supervision of the CILA Team Leader and with the support of the Supported Living Program Manager./ppstrongESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned./strong/pulliProvide training and guidance to the residents in Community Integrated Living Arrangement (CILA) in the areas of activities of daily living (example-hygiene), community integration (example-outings) and economic self sufficiency skills (example-accurate recording of financial transactions)./liliProvide direct personal care or oversight as needed./liliProvide excellent customer service to residents and families and maintain positive relationships and lines of communication./liliEnsures resident medication needs are met by monitoring and documenting medication regimen. Brings any health issues to the supervisor’s attention./liliWorks with and participates in the community in order to assist residents in utilizing resources and developing natural supports. Includes providing client transportation./liliCompletes all required documentation./liliPrepares and/or utilizes basic household necessities such as food, program supplies, and cleaning supplies, and is responsible for the overall appearance of the home, including daily housekeeping tasks./liliFollow and maintain all safety procedures and participate in safety drills./li/ulpustrongSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:/strong/u/ppNone/ppRequirements/ppustrongQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:/strong/u/ppTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required./ppustrongEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:/strong/u/ppMust have a High School Diploma or G.E.D. Experience working in a residential setting with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred./ppustrongLANGUAGE SKILLS:/strong/u/ppAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write routine reports and simple correspondence. Ability to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to residents and other employees of the organization./ppustrongMATHEMATICAL SKILLS:/strong/u/ppAbility to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance. Ability to compute percentages./ppustrongREASONING ABILITY:/strong/u/ppAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations./ppustrongCERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:/strong/u/ppMust have a valid driver's license and valid auto insurance./ppustrongOTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:/strong/u/ppMust be able to develop effective and efficient communication skills through instruction and training, to adapt favorably to changing program needs and have genuine interest in the welfare of clients. Must be able to develop knowledge of behavior principles through instruction and training. Must pass the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) with an eighty percent or higher. Ability to learn basic computer operations for client data tracking, incident reporting and other processes deemed necessary by the supervisory staff./ppustrongPHYSICAL DEMANDS:/strong/u/ppThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee continuously is required to lift up to 10 lbs. The employee occasionally is required to lift between 11 lbs – 50 lbs. The job requires the employee to use the left and right hand for repetitive actions for simple grasping, firm grasping and fine manipulating. The employee must have the ability to drive the agency’s van. The employee must be able to provide assistance to individuals as needed such as maneuvering wheelchairs, or assisting clients in ambulating and transferring when necessary.
