liHigh School Graduate or GED recipient/li
li1-3 years of maintenance experience/li
liSome working knowledge or willingness to learn in the fields of electrical wiring, plumbing, carpentry, painting, HVAC, and general maintenance./li
liStrong work ethic/li
liWillingness to accomplish a variety of physical tasks on a daily basis./li
liAbility to pass a criminal background check/li
liCurrent Arizona Driver’s License/li

pstrongRESPONSIBILITIES/strong/p
ul
liBe instrumental in fulfilling the mission statement of Camp Ponderosa and The Salvation Army, avoiding actions that are detrimental to the mission./li
liParticipate in building vehicle maintenance as assigned by the Facilities Manager or Camp Director./li
liMaintain a positive attitude toward campers, guests and coworkers, especially during times of frustration./li
liMaintain an attitude of service towards guests and campers/li
liMaintain a healthy line of communication with supervisors and coworkers./li
liAssess buildings while fulfilling assignments, reporting any facilities that are substandard or broken./li
liParticipate in building walkthroughs to ensure full functionality and aesthetic before group arrival./li
liCheck for burned-out bulbs and replace them with a proper bulb after reporting to the Facilities Manager./li
liAssist with the upkeep, maintenance, and painting of facilities./li
liAssist with the maintenance and repair of vehicles when assigned./li
liUnder the instruction of the Facilities Manager, assist in maintaining all equipment in a safe, orderly manner. Follow ALL safety instructions as per the owner’s manual or the supervisor's instructions./li
liMaintain oil and function of gas-powered equipment as assigned by Facilities Manager./li
liKeep all lawn mowers clean of debris and free of grass and other obstructions./li
liMaintain grounds by mowing, trimming, and irrigation as instructed./li
liClean and service all hand equipment after each use and put it in its proper place/li
liKeep all Staff and Campers away from the cutting work area and safe from flying debris from lawn mowers, weed trimmers, and other lawn equipment./li
liEmpty trash barrels daily around program areas and Meadow Road./li
liKeep the shop orderly and clean at all times./li
liWatch for full trash cans while fulfilling assignments, be prepared to empty and replace them as needed./li
liParticipate in cleaning assignments as assigned only when absolutely needed to meet camp deadlines./li
liOther duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager or Camp Director./li

pWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and reach with hands and arms on a continuous basis. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Must be willing and able to climb step ladders from 4’ to 12’ in height unassisted, 16’ step ladder and up with assistance, and commercial grade extension ladders of varying heights with assistance as reasonable. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must have the ability to operate telephone, a desktop or laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer, and to understand written information./p
