CAO is committed to be the Orthopaedics provider of choice for our patients; partner of choice for payors and health systems; and employer of choice by attracting and retaining a talented workforce./p pThe Rehab Aide is responsible for providing support to Physical and Occupational Therapists and Therapy Assistants in their treatment of patients, under their direct supervision as required in accordance with CAO's policies and procedures and state and federal (Medicare) rules and regulations. The Rehab Aide may also be responsible for assisting in front desk job duties as necessary./p p /p pspan style="text-decoration: underline;"strongDuties include, but are not limited to:/strong/span/p ol liAssists the therapists in the treatment of non-Medicare patients, under the therapists’ direct supervision, including but not limited to the following: retrieving and/or assisting therapists with set up and administration of modalities; setting up exercise machines as necessary for each individual non-Medicare patient; monitoring exercise repetitions/form as requested by the therapists for non-Medicare patients./li liCleans plinths, equipment, counter tops, and any other surfaces as necessary to disinfect clinic and maintain CAO's high standards of cleanliness./li liAdheres to work schedules, which are created to maximize hours of patient care and patient volume, therefore, schedules may vary from day to day depending on patient need, including early morning hours, evening hours and Saturday hours depending on clinic./li liAssists with doing laundry (if applicable) and ensuring towels, gowns, etc. are clean, folded and put away in the appropriate place. /li liPerforms front desk job duties including but not limited to answering the phone, scheduling patients, patient registration, insurance verification and any other duties as specified by Clinic Manager/Therapy Director./li liIs responsible for attending monthly clinic staff meetings or if unable to attend, he/she is responsible for obtaining a copy of the written agenda from the Clinic Manager/Therapy Director./li liAssists with the smooth running of the clinic, which may include variations in scheduled hours, as well as staffing at another CAO location.  /li liActively participates in the Therapy team, including but not limited to staff meetings, CAO sponsored events, webinars, in-services, and departmental meetings./li liMay be required to work evenings and Saturdays depending on Practice operating hours and needs of the therapy clinic./li liPerforms other duties as assigned./li /ol p /p pspan style="text-decoration: underline;"strongRequired Education Experience/strong/span/p ul liHigh School Diploma preferred./li liExperience and proficiency working with computers and electronic medical records./li /ul pspan style="text-decoration: underline;"strongCompetencies/Required Skills Abilities/strong/span/p ul liStrong Interpersonal Skills - Ability to develop relationships and collaborate in a decentralized organization./li liDemonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment with a proven track record of results./li liStrong oral and written communication skills with excellent self-discipline and patience/li liRequired to be proficient in Windows based office technologies (e.g., Word, Excel)/li liAble to work independently./li liExudes professionalism in presentation./li liMust be able to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in the English language./li liMust participate in CAO's Rehab Aide training and pass CAO's Rehab Aide proficiency exam./li /ul p /p pspan style="text-decoration: underline;"strongPhysical Demands/strong/span/p ul liMust be able to sit for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds./li liMust be able to use appropriate body mechanics when making necessary transfers and helping patients with exercises./li liRequires frequent bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting, and sitting./li liSome heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling exerted regularly throughout a standard work shift./li liAdequate hearing to perform duties in person and over telephone./li liRequires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity needed to operate a keyboard, medical equipment, fax machine, scanner, photocopier, and telephone. /li liMust be able to communicate clearly to patients in person and over the telephone./li liVisual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading materials from printed sources and computer screens./li liRequires exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a clinical environment./li /ul
