CDL Utility Driver - Full-time

pstrong4:00AM-6:00PM M-F/strong/p pCDL Utility Drivers are responsible for servicing customers with the collection and hauling of waste or recycling materials to a disposal site or recycling plant. This position requires the ability to operate various types of trucks and be able to fill in for other drivers. Drivers will service many different routes in various areas and operate different trucks, so excellent driving/maneuvering skills are essential. This position may require driving in congested and/or confined areas./p p /p pstrongspan style="text-decoration: underline;"Responsibilities of Position:/span/strong/p ul liOperate various trucks in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies./li liProvide trash or recycling removal services to customers by emptying trash/recycling containers into truck and hauling to disposal site or recycling plant./li liAbility to pick up missed stops and/or routes as needed./li liDeliver trash or recycling containers as needed./li liReplace trash or recycling containers neatly at the curb or designated area./li liClean up waste spills and overflows./li liClean waste from the packer blade and truck body./li liMaintain and update route and driver logs. /li liConduct pre-trip/post trip inspections and complete logs./li liAbility to work flexible hours based on business needs./li liProfessional interaction with internal and external customers./li liOther duties as assigned.  /li /ul p /p pspan style="text-decoration: underline;"strongSkills Abilities Needed for Position:/strong/span/p ul liAbility to get certified in various trucks./li liAbility to read and understand a map./li liAbility to perform physical requirements of the job (prolonged physical exertions, including but not limited to sitting, reaching, pushing, pulling, climbing, and lifting)./li liAbility to drive all types of trucks in fleet./li liExcellent truck driving/maneuvering skills./li liGeneral knowledge of mechanics of trucks./li liAbility to work in all weather conditions./li liGood written and verbal communication skills to be able to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers./li /ul p /p pspan style="text-decoration: underline;"strongAdditional Working Conditions/Aspects:/strong/span/p ul liMust have at least a valid Class B CDL./li liMust have a valid DOT Medical Card or able to obtain prior to hire./li liMust be at least 19 years of age./li liNo more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 years./li liMust not have any DUI's or OVI's within the last 5 years or 2 in the last 10 years./li liPossible exposure to high traffic conditions and/or tight driving areas./li liExposure to residential and commercial waste./li liAbility to work flexible hours; overtime, weekends, and/or holidays./li liMust be available for 24-hour emergency calls./li liLegally eligible to work in the United States./li liValid driver’s license (if applicable)./li liMust successfully complete pre-employment testing./li liMust be able to read and speak the English language/li /ul p /p pemThis job description is intended to describe the general nature, complexity, and level of work to be performed by employees assigned to this position and is not to be construed as an exhaustive list of responsibilities, duties and/or skills required.
