Charge Nurse- Team Lead

pstrongGENERAL DESCRIPTION:/strong/p pstrong /strongThe Charge Nurse is to assist the Nursing supervisor in the responsibility for the total patient care within the nursing unit, and the management of the unit./p pstrongRates:/strong/p pstrongRN $34 to $42 depending on experience and licensure. /strong/p pstrongPLUS /strongstrongwe offer additional shift differentials for evening and weekend shifts!!/strong/p pstrongDUTIES:/strong/p ul liCarry out administrative and patient care duties as part of their shift responsibilities/li liSupervises and assumes responsibility for the actions and care delivered by the STNA’s/li liAbides by department policies and procedures and interprets them to personnel, medical staff, patients and the public./li liWilling to work on the unit designated by the D.O.N., A.D.O.N, or Supervisor./li liChecks 24 hour report sheet for changes/updates in the patient care needs for the day./li liMakes walking rounds, supervision of the N.A. care delivered./li liAdministers medication (including IV) and treatment per the Physician orders specific to the patient./li liAttempts to meet the needs of the patient in a spiritual or psychological manner with the resources available to the nurse./li liAssists and directs in the admission/discharge process of patients./li /ul pstrongADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES/strong/p ul liGives and receives report at the beginning and change of shift to oncoming staff./li liTakes and transcribes physician orders./li liAnswers telephone inquiries./li liEvaluates patient care needs, condition, develops and or adds to existing plan of care for the individual patient./li liAdmission process of patient in the event the documentation nurse is not available (verifying Physician orders, transcribing pre-admission information, arranging diagnostic and therapeutic needs within and outside of the facility, ordering medication/treatment need, communication to dietary of the patient needs, completes needed paper work per admission check list)/li liTransfer and discharge of patients (arrangements for transportation, communication with the family/responsible party, appropriate paper work to accompany the patient)./li liMaintains appropriate documentation in the patient electronic medical record/li /ul pstrongGENERAL UNIT DUTIES:     /strong/p ul liDirects and assists with department cleaning and care of equipment/appliances./li liCommunication with teamwork with all departments./li liOverall safety and cleanliness of the unit./li liGreet and direct visitors on the unit/li /ul pstrongPERSONNEL REQUIREMENTS:strongbr //strong/strong/p ul liValid Nursing license in the state where the facility is located/li liResponsible for meeting the state required continuing education hours per licensure period./li liGood physical and mental health./li liHave a sincere desire to work with elderly/li liMust be willing to perform non-professional duties./li liMust be level-headed and take or give direction in an emergency situation./li liMust be able to place the patient needs above own desires or judgement./li liMust always serve as a patient advocate./li /ul pstrongDoverwood is an EOE/M/F/D/V and Smoke-Free Workplace/strong/p
