To ensure that the preparation and service of all meals make a positive contribution to the overall experience of our campers and guests. Responsible for the care and upkeep of the commercial kitchen equipment and making necessary recommendations for the purchase of supplies and equipment needed for this service./p pstrongQUALIFICATIONS:/strong/p ul liMust possess and demonstrate an ability to work with people, including guests, campers, and staff, in an affable, concerned, and caring manner./li liMust display the ability to be accountable for the efficient scheduling of time and resources made available to perform tasks./li liMust have 3-5 years of food service experience; Some supervisory experience. Formal food service training strongly preferred/li liStrong verbal and written communication skills/li liMust be able to work under pressure./li liMust be detail-oriented, accurate, punctual, dependable, and personable./li liWill exemplify a character rooted in respect, patience, sensitivity towards a diverse population/li liAbility to lead/motivate staff and volunteers with a variety of skill levels and dispositions/li liAbility to maintain a high level of cleanliness and safety and lead others to do so, as well/li liAbility to maintain a professional demeanor and tactful communication at all times/li liAbility to lead and work alongside teenagers and young adults seasonally/li liMust maintain Food Service Manager Certification once acquired/li liMust pass a criminal background check/li liMust have a valid AZ Driver’s license with a clean driving record/li liAbility to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends/li /ul pstrongRESPONSIBILITIES:/strong/p ul liAssist with any food service preparation assigned by the Kitchen Manager./li liAssist with cleaning and care of the kitchen, Dining Hall, and all work areas and equipment in keeping with established health department and industry safety standards and codes./li liBe willing to take on any job that may enhance Ponderosa’s food service experience./li liBe prepared to take responsibility for meal/snack preparation if required and ensure their readiness in accordance with the scheduled meal/snack times./li liAssist with menu planning./li liAssist in the Conifer Café as scheduled and requested./li liBe prepared to order food and supplies as directed by the Kitchen Manager./li liAssist the Kitchen Manager in ensuring proper stock/li liIn accordance with state and county health codes, properly store all leftovers and unused food after each meal/snack./li liCoordinate the daily work schedule with the Kitchen Manager when asked./li liEnsure that all kitchen cleanup is completed in a timely manner./li liMaintain safe work habits in accordance with all government regulations. Make certain that the attitude and behavior of those in the kitchen area are exemplary at all times and in keeping with professional standards./li liAttend and participate in training as assigned by the Kitchen Manager and Camp Director./li liMaintain a high standard of cleanliness in personal grooming./li liAssist the Kitchen Manager in any duties as requested in order to maintain a high level of efficiency in the kitchen operation./li liHelp ensure that the Camp Ponderosa mission is upheld in the Kitchen and Dining Hall: “To create a mountaintop sanctuary where a deep sense of belonging is found and nurtured by loving service and joyful experiences.”/li /ul pstrongPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:/strong/p pQualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
