pstrongResponsibilities/strong/p
ul
liGenetics education for high-risk patients./li
liRegistration and scheduling follow up appointments for genetic testing./li
liInterface with patients and creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures to patients and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe and accurate manner./li
liUnder the direction of the area supervisor, perform daily activities accurately and on time./li
liMaintain a safe and professional environment./li
liPerforms with confidence clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures./li
liPerform verification of patient demographic info / initials including patient signature post-venipuncture to verify tubes were labeled in their presence and that the name on the label is correct./li
liMaintains required records and documentation./li
liDemonstrates organizational commitment and promotes a positive image to patients, clients, employees and the public in general./li
liDraw quality blood samples from patients and prepare those specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures. Once started, this is roughly 5-10% of the role, which may expand over time./li

ul
li2 years of recent medical assistant experience coordinating with a team of medical professionals, certification or registered medical assistant is preferred./li
liAbility to provide quality, error free work in a fast-paced environment./li
liAbility to work independently with minimal on-site supervision./li
liExcellent phlebotomy skills in collection of specimens, including blood draws for genetic testing/li
liFlexible and available based on staffing needs, which may include holidays, on-call and overtime/li
liMust have reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record, if applicable./li
liMust demonstrate superior customer focus; ability to communicate openly and transparently with peers, supervisors and patients; ability to accelerate and embrace change; and knowledge of our business./li
liTraining locations may vary based on trainer availability/li

liRegistered/Certified Medical assistant preferred/li
liNational Certified Phlebotomist required or LPN and proven experience in blood collection is required./li
liBLS certification is required/li

li2 years of recent phlebotomy experience is preferred/li
li2 years of recent medical assistant experience coordinating with a team of medical professionals, certification or registered medical assistant is preferred./li
li2 years of recent experience with insurance verifications/authorizations is required./li
liMinimum 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred/li
liCustomer service in healthcare setting environment is preferred/li
liKeyboard/data entry experience/li
