Compensation commensurate with experience and skills./strong/ppRequirements/ppThe Ophthalmic Medical Technician is responsible for collecting and recording ocular and systemic patient histories, visual acuities, BP, IOP, Auto refractions, Manifest Refractions, performing external examinations, and dry-eye testing, as well as disease specific extra testing/ppbr//ppstrongEssential Functions and Responsibilities:/strong/pulliCollecting and recording patient medical history/liliInstructing patients on post-operative care, medication use, contact lens care and exam expectations./liliPerforming visual acuity testing, auto and Manifest Refractions (measurements for the glasses prescription), tonometry (measuring eye pressure) (Goldmann required)/liliMeasuring pupil size and reactivity using PERRLA/liliTesting elements of movement (eye muscle function)/liliPerforming confrontational visual field testing, pachymetry (Corneal thickness measurement)/liliPerforming dry eye testing including Zone Quick and TBUT, Interferometry, brightness acuity testing/liliParticipating in light cleaning of the facility/liliMaintaining a sanitized environment/liliPerforming corneal topography, retinal nerve fiber layer measurements, retinal thickness and topography, fluorescein angiography, B-scan ultrasonography/liliAssisting with contact lens fitting and instructing patients on insertion and removal of contacts./liliPreparing for and assisting with in-office procedures including consenting patients/liliAssisting with Lasers or minor procedures/li/ulpbr//ppstrongQualifications:/strong/pulliRequired: Minimal of one year in Ophthalmology experience/liliPreferred: Certification/li/ulpbr//ppstrongSkills and Abilities:/strong/pulliSuperior interpersonal and communications skills./liliAbility to perform manifest refraction is required/liliAbility to perform Goldmann tonometry is required./liliAbility to effectively multitask/liliAttentive to detail and accuracy./li/ulpstrongBenefits/strong/pulliMedical, Dental, Vision/lili401k (employer match after 12 months of employment)/liliScrub Reimbursement/lili8 Paid Holidays/liliPTO (paid time off) accrues on first paycheck/li/ulpbr//ppbr//p
