Ensures accurate tracking and labeling of reagents and supplies.nbsp;/li linbsp;Determines the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria in testing procedures.nbsp;/li liHandles proficiency testing samples appropriately to avoid inappropriate referral or communication.nbsp;/li linbsp;Ensures Instrument and testing and accuracy:nbsp; ul liPerforms linearity, accuracy and precision checks as required.nbsp;nbsp;/li liPerforms Quality Control and calibrations with the appropriate frequency and evaluates results, to decide whether tests should be reported. Reports any shifts or trends to the Supervisor.nbsp;nbsp;/li liResponsible for performing and recording instrument maintenance, temperature readings each day of operation, and daily surface decontamination of all areas of testing.nbsp;/li liFiles and maintains all records involved in the testing of patient samples, including quality control data, instrument maintenance and service records and patient records based on requirements in the Records Retention Schedule. This includes proficiency testing.nbsp;nbsp;/li /ul/li liAccurately enters results of testing. Reviews reports to monitor accuracy of results reporting.nbsp; Evaluates the acceptability of routine and complex analysis prior to releasing patient reports.)nbsp; Recognizes and takes appropriate action in response to critical values or unusual or unexpected results, and documents action taken.nbsp; Determines calculated results utilizing testing data by means of manual or computerized procedures (not sure what this means).nbsp;/li liDemonstrates the ability to detect and correct technical, instrument and operational problems.nbsp;nbsp; Notifies the supervisor, and contacts manufacturer or field service support for additional assistance, if necessary.nbsp; Documents all problems with clearly stated description of issue and corrective action taken.
