Job Description
Join a specialized and highly regarded environmental team dedicated to helping our clients with challenging air quality projects! We are seeking an experienced Environmental Specialist with a strong background in air emissions testing, reporting, and permitting to join our remote team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, demonstrating expertise in air quality regulations, testing protocols, and environmental compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee air emissions testing and sampling at various industrial sites.
• Prepare and submit technically advanced air emission reports in compliance with Federal, state, and local regulations.
• Develop and help manage air permits and ensure ongoing compliance.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of state and Federal air quality regulations and industry best practices.
• Assist in preparation of documents for other regulatory applications, such as hazardous waste applications
• Provide training and guidance on regulatory standards to operators at client facilities.
• Support the design, permitting, and management of thermal treatment systems and other waste management or air pollution sources.
Travel Requirements:
This position requires travel to client sites up to 25% of the time. Travel may occur as back-to-back weeks or on an irregular schedule, depending on client needs. Applicants should be within general proximity of a major airport to facilitate travel.
Vetting Requirements:
Candidates must be willing to undergo a Federal background check and complete a pre‐employment and periodic random drug screens for all substances required under the Federal Drug-Free Workplace Program (DFWP). Applicants must be a U.S. citizen.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in air emissions testing, reporting, and permitting. Consulting experience preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations.
• Experience executing, reviewing, and/or overseeing stack testing and laboratory analyses.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Must be extremely proficient at MS Excel, and capable of conducting basic editing and manipulation of documents in MS Word.
• Strong technical and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Self-starter with proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and clients effectively.
