We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Collections Specialist to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Houston, Texas. This role involves managing business-to-business collections, primarily interacting with large insurance agencies. The position offers a hybrid work schedule, with three days onsite and two days remote each week.
Responsibilities:
• Handle business-to-business collections, ensuring timely resolution of outstanding balances.
• Communicate effectively with large insurance agencies to address and resolve payment discrepancies.
• Monitor accounts receivable to identify overdue payments and initiate follow-up actions.
• Utilize medical billing knowledge to review claims, appeals, and payment adjustments.
• Interpret and apply medical terminology, CPT codes, and other relevant documentation during collections.
• Collaborate with internal teams to streamline processes and improve collection outcomes.
• Maintain accurate records of collection activities, payment statuses, and correspondence.
• Provide exceptional customer service to resolve inquiries related to medical billing and insurance claims.

• Strong understanding of medical billing, appeals, and insurance processes.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and CPT codes.
• Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with insurance agencies.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a hybrid work environment.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple accounts and deadlines effectively.
• Proficiency in maintaining detailed records and documentation of collection activities.
