Malone Healthcare - Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Saint Johnsbury, Vermont.

Unit: Emergency Department (9 Beds)
Setting: Rural Critical Access Hospital
Annual Volume: 15,000+ ED visits/year
Charting: Meditech
- Emergency Assessment & Triage: ~12–14 hrs/week
Rapid assessment, prioritization, and stabilization of emergency patients. - Direct Emergency Care: ~12–14 hrs/week
Managing medical, cardiac, respiratory, trauma, and urgent care presentations. - Critical Interventions & Procedures: ~5–6 hrs/week
ACLS protocols, emergency medications, IV therapy, airway support, and patient stabilization. - Documentation & Care Coordination: ~3–4 hrs/week
Meditech charting, interdisciplinary communication, patient disposition, and transfers. - Patient Monitoring & Reassessment: ~3–4 hrs/week
Continuous evaluation of patient response and adjustment of care plans.
- Current VT RN License or Compact License
- BLS & ACLS required
- 3+ years ER experience required
- TNCC preferred
- Meditech experience preferred (or ability to learn quickly)
- Strong critical thinking and ability to work independently
- Rural Emergency Department with 9 beds
- 15,000+ annual patient visits
- Physician-staffed 24/7 ED
- Fast-paced environment requiring quick decision-making
- Ongoing ED expansion project
- No public transportation; closest airport approximately 2 hours away
