Position Summary:
The Procurement Manager will oversee and coordinate the activities of personnel involved in purchasing and distributing materials, equipment, and supplies for the hospital. This role will include both hands-on duties and supervisory responsibilities to ensure efficient and cost-effective procurement processes.
Qualifications· Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Proficiency in accounting software, database tools, inventory systems, order processing systems, spreadsheet software, and word processing software.
· Ability to thrive in a highly stressful work environment while maintaining professionalism and integrity.
Responsibilities· Ensure adherence to attendance and punctuality guidelines.
· Participate in required meetings, in-service programs, and continuing education activities.
· Maintain respect and courtesy toward customers and co-workers.
· Safeguard patient and system confidentiality at all times.
· Function independently with flexibility and personal integrity while effectively collaborating with residents, personnel, and support agencies.
· Plan, organize, direct, and control activities related to procurement functions.
· Supervise storeroom and central supply personnel involved in receiving, issuing, and delivering supplies and equipment.
· Develop and implement purchasing systems, procedures, and reporting structures.
· Analyze market and delivery conditions to ensure material availability for present and future needs.
· Evaluate vendor quotations to achieve optimal quality, price, delivery, and service.
· Recruit and maintain supplier relationships while upholding the highest ethical standards.
· Prepare and issue purchase orders, contracts, bids, and vendor agreements.
· Negotiate complex procurement requests, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal standards.
· Oversee clerical and office procedures, improving workflow and office practices where needed.
· Arrange for the disposal of surplus materials efficiently.
· Lead recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and conflict resolution for the procurement team.
