Registered Nurse - Patient Care Job Description

This is a 13-week contract position focused on the delivery of age-specific, direct patient care. The RN will provide nursing care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process and will operate within the framework of the Department of Nursing Standards of Patient Care and Specialty Specific Standards of Patient Care. The role includes leadership responsibilities, including the delegation of tasks to other levels of staff, and requires compliance with all applicable State and Federal laws, regulations, and policies governing the provision of health care.

Schedule

This position requires daytime shifts with a schedule of three 12-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts per week. Call time is required every eighth weekend along with 2-3 weeknight calls within a four-week schedule if no further changes are made.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care according to nursing standards.
• Utilize the Nursing Process to assess and manage patient needs.
• Assume leadership responsibilities and delegate tasks appropriately.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and policies.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active certifications in ACLS, BLS, and PALS (or ENPC) required prior to the contract start date.
• If certifications are not current, a booked course must be arranged at the time of Clinical Orientation.
