Join a leading provider of mission-critical electrical services as a Critical Systems Technician III, specializing in switchgear, in Phoenix, AZ. This role is essential to ensuring the reliability and performance of electrical systems in high-stakes environments such as data centers, utilities, and hospitals. The position offers the opportunity to work on new white space fit outs, providing technical leadership and hands-on expertise in the installation, maintenance, and operation of advanced power distribution equipment. As part of a collaborative team, you will play a key role in upholding contractual commitments and supporting the seamless operation of critical infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Review technical specifications with sales and project management teams to define project scope and ensure compliance with bid packages.
  • Collaborate with the services team to verify adherence to project specifications.
  • Provide job-specific technical support and interface with factory representatives to resolve site-related technical issues.
  • Perform quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) on power distribution equipment.
  • Create and maintain Method of Procedures (MOPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs) for critical power systems.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and service on contracted electrical gear and components.
  • Install, service, and troubleshoot power distribution equipment, including low, medium, and high voltage switchgear, relay panels, transformers, ATS, and circuit breakers.
  • Examine relay settings and logic equations to confirm system operation aligns with design specifications.
  • Provide regular status updates and feedback to project managers and service operations leadership.
  • Prepare site testing reports and inspection documentation as required by project specifications.
  • Participate in specialized commissioning and testing of systems.
  • Conduct site visits and respond to service calls as directed.
  • Travel regionally as needed, including initial travel for onboarding and safety training (company-paid).
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Services Management.
Qualifications
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; associate or bachelor’s degree in electronics, electrical theory, or a related discipline highly desirable, or equivalent work experience.
  • 2-5 years of experience with mission-critical electrical systems in environments such as data centers, utilities, oil & gas, or hospitals.
  • 3-5 years of field repair or customer service experience with UPS, electrical, electro-mechanical, or electronics-related equipment, or 3-5 years of mission-critical product experience.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical power distribution equipment, including UPS, switchgear, batteries, monitoring equipment, and generators.
  • Knowledge of NETA standards, IEEE, and NEMA specifications for low and medium voltage switchgear.
  • Proficiency in the operation, maintenance, and testing of switchgear, protective relaying, and controls.
  • Ability to disassemble, inspect, repair, reassemble, and test low and medium voltage switchgear.
  • Ability to read and interpret one-line diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings.
  • Technical writing skills and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and MS Project.
  • Familiarity with specialized testing equipment and reporting software.
  • NETA/NICET Level II or above certification is a plus.
  • NFPA 70E Low Voltage and High Voltage certification is a plus.
  • Ability to travel regionally and for initial onboarding training.
