Job Description
POSITION PURPOSE:
Responsible for safely and efficiently performing maintenance on various types of equipment, along with buildings and structures. Duties will include troubleshooting, proposing solutions, preventative maintenance, and major repairs. Types of repairs could include motors, conveyors, DCS systems, heaters, coolers, compressors, and exchangers. Duties may also include calibrating and conducting electrical repairs and installations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:
- Learn all areas of the plant and participate as part of the plant team.
- Troubleshoot and make repairs on the DCS system.
- Perform repairs on various plant equipment including, but not limited to; motors, heaters, coolers, compressors, etc.
- Assist with calibration of various controls including valves, switches, levers, etc.
- Prepare and perform electrical installations. This will consist of running and pulling conduit and wiring.
- Read and update electrical prints/drawings.
- Plan, organize, and communicate with all levels of staffing.
- Assist Operators as needed with various tasks.
- Provide maintenance on machines and equipment as needed (greasing, conveyors, etc.)
- Ensure a positive company representation to carriers, internal and external customers and vendors.
- Comply and enforce at all times PTUSA, ICM Ventures and OSHA safety programs and regulations, including LOTO, Confined Space, and Electrical Safety programs.
- Assist in maintaining the security and general upkeep of the facility to include equipment, grounds, buildings, etc.
- Perform additional and other responsibilities as assigned and needed to successfully contribute to the development of Pellet Technology USA as a company and growing entity.
- Availability for occasional travel for trainings and maintain certificates for electrical standards, OSHA Certificates, etc.
- Responsible for production of safe animal food and adherence to internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA).
- Ability to travel with trailers and equipment attached.
Education/Certification:
- High school diploma or equivalent certificate required
- Associate degree or technical degree/certification preferred
Required Knowledge & Experience:
- 3+ years of electrical experience
- Experience with ARC and MIG welding
- Strong working knowledge of industrial equipment.
- Working knowledge of Device-net
Skills/Abilities:
- Punctual and timely in meeting all requirements of performance, including but not limited to, attendance standards and work deadlines
- Ability to maintain courteous, professional and effective working relationships with customers and employees at all levels of the organization
- Ability to communicate information and state problems or challenges to be resolved in a clear, concise, courteous, nondiscriminatory and professional manner and be able to provide clarification as necessary
- Capable of adapting, with minimal or no advance notice, to changes in how business is conducted and work is accomplished, with no diminishment in work performance
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION:
Must be able to stand for long periods of time, climb ladder and work at elevations. Must have a current, valid driver’s license with no restrictions. May be exposed to loud noises, wet and humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, extreme hot and cold depending on weather conditions. Fine visual acuity to read English for accuracy. Travel up to 10% required as needed.
