Job Description
An exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialist to lead and grow a regional high-risk pregnancy program in Grand Rapids, MI. This role allows you to combine clinical excellence, leadership, and program development while making a meaningful impact on mothers, babies, and families.
Position OverviewThe Medical Director will provide clinical leadership and oversight for the Maternal Fetal Medicine service line while collaborating with OB/GYN leadership and administrative teams.
Key responsibilities include:
Clinical Leadership
Lead and oversee the Maternal Fetal Medicine service line
Ensure the highest standards of care for complex and high-risk pregnancies
Patient Care
Provide consultative, diagnostic, and management services
Collaborate with obstetricians, neonatologists, and specialists
Deliver comprehensive care for high-risk maternal and fetal conditions
Program Development
Help expand and enhance the regional MFM program
Work closely with clinical and administrative leadership
Support initiatives around:
Quality improvement
Service excellence
Team engagement
Operational performance
Education & Mentorship
Mentor residents, medical students, and providers
Contribute to ongoing professional development within the program
Collaborative physician leadership model
Strong partnership with Women’s & Children’s Services leadership

Board Certified in OB/GYN
Board Certified in Maternal Fetal Medicine
Eligible for Michigan medical license
DEA certification (or ability to obtain)
BLS & ACLS certification
Minimum 5 years of MFM practice experience (excluding training)
Preferred
2+ years of leadership experience
Experience required – new graduates not considered
Candidates with lapsed board certification will not be considered
