What You'll Do

As a CNC Project Technician, you'll be part of our Decorah Operations team located in Decorah, IA. You'll get to:

• Demonstrates hands on competency in CAD/CAM software, which interfaces with manufacturing and toolroom CNC equipment (Pro-E, Master Cam and or Esprit).
• Provide Decorah Operations CNC machining support in setup reduction, throughput, and feed system improvements.
• Concentrates on tasks established for the purpose of reducing cost and improving operations through designing, implementing, and maintaining systems for effective operations.
• Understands advanced multi-axis G code programming as related to CNC equipment.
• Ability to maintain, operate and repair manufacturing equipment.
• Capable of using all measuring equipment, including CMM measuring equipment.
• Performs routine maintenance and maintains preventive maintenance checks.
• Observes safety and housekeeping guidelines and follows all safety rules and OSHA regulations.

• 2-year Industrial Mechanical Technical degree or equivalent experience.
• CNC Technical school graduate or High school diploma or GED equivalent with demonstrated experience in CNC machining.
• Previous experience and demonstrated knowledge of production tooling and repair parts.
• Previous CNC Experience.
• Previous CAD/CAM software experience.
• Knowledge of materials in tool development.
• Knowledge of special heat treating of tool steels
• Knowledge and ability of machining of tooling materials (feed and speed rates, material composition, etc.).
• Knowledge of shop mathematics including trigonometry.
• Knowledge and demonstrated ability to read blueprints.
• Knowledge of G & M programming codes as related to CNC.
