Primary Purpose:
Provide substance abuse rehabilitation and counseling services to clients in accordance with OASAS and Agency rules and regulations in an inpatient setting.
Responsibilities:
- Participates in screening of clients, gathering of necessary admission information/data, and observation of physical, mental, and emotional status of admitted clients.
- Works cooperatively with the Program Manager to meet the rehabilitation treatment needs of each client. Must assume a rotating caseload.
- Provides individual and group counseling sessions to residents, this includes motivation, support, and encouragement for client goals.
- Collects urine drugs screens and breathalyzer testing for Residential clients. Prepares all paperwork related to routine and random urine and drug screens.
- Monitors clients for medical, mental health, safety and security issues. Monitors client medication schedules, following program procedure and protocols.
- Dispenses medications and preforms med counts on each shift change as needed.
- Prepares all treatment plans, and discharge plans. Assumes responsibility for managing and reporting incidents.
- Participates in weekly Case Conferences and resident meetings including team meetings. Attends required staff meetings and trainings.
- May be required to work in other residential buildings and ACCA locations as needed.
- Make calls to local ambulance service, fire department, police, or CDPC, as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Program Manager.
Education Requirements: Candidate must have completed 350 hours for CASAC, and minimum of High School Diploma.
License Requirements: Candidate must be credentialed as a CASAC-T or higher and have a valid NYS Driver's License. CPR and First Aid certified preferred.
Experience Requirements: Two (2) years' experience preferably in a chemical dependency program serving intoxicated persons on an emergency basis or detoxification services.
Full Time Monday-Friday 1pm-9pm
