Harmony Hill School (HHS) is a private, non-profit organization providing residential treatment and educational programs to male youth ages 8-18. Our beautiful school campus in Glocester, RI is a easy 20-30 minute commute from many towns in the RI/CT/MA area.

The Weekend Staff Nurse (RN or LPN) works a Friday through Monday schedule. This is a full time position offering a competitive pay rate and comprehensive benefits program.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Participate in providing first-aid and nursing care services including: treatment, recovery plan development, implementation of care plans, and evaluation of the effectiveness of medical intervention.
  • Administer medication and treatments according to policies and procedures and accurately complete recordkeeping requirements.
  • Update student records with information regarding nursing care, treatment plans and observations.
  • Assist with the coordination of and transportation for youth medical, dental and sub-specialty appointments.
  • Assist in obtaining and documenting monthly vital signs for all youth.
  • Assist in inventorying and ordering medical supplies and over the counter medications. Assist with department administrative support

Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills for effective patient treatment, education and collaboration across departments.
  • Strong interpersonal communication, conflict management and de-escalation skills.
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and residential treatment best practices.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse population of youth, families, and professionals. Possess a knowledge of and sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, racial and socioeconomic issues.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • Current and unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) in Rhode Island.
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, preferably with experience working in a behavioral health setting.
  • Must successfully complete required driving record, criminal, and child abuse/neglect pre-employment screenings and maintain favorable results during employment.
