Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist for a long-term acute care assignment, requiring BLS and 2 years of SLP experience.

Responsibilities
  • Work in a Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) hospital attached to a skilled Extended Care facility
  • Day shifts, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (5x8s)
  • Patient caseload approximately 1:5
  • No weekend or on-call requirements
  • Potential floating within scope to meet facility needs
  • Cerner charting system is used in the hospital, PCC is used in LTC
  • Travel pairs are accepted
  • Local candidates are accepted with no radius restrictions
  • Free onsite housing is available
  • Provide speech therapy and rehabilitation services to patients in an LTAC and skilled nursing environment
  • Work with an interdisciplinary care team in a Level IV hospital setting
  • Flexible dress code; any scrub color allowed per facility policy
  • Parking is free onsite
  • Full orientation provided; RTO requests limited to one per contract with a one-week maximum
  • Holiday coverage is not required for this assignment
Requirements
  • Active state SLP license or eligibility for pending license at time of consideration
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Minimum of 2 years of SLP experience in a relevant setting is required
  • FEES, LSVT, and SLP-CF certifications are preferred
  • Cerner charting experience is preferred
  • First-time travelers are not accepted
  • One week of RTO per contract is allowed, with no RTO during the first two weeks
