Job Description & Requirements

Core Responsibilities:

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures:
  • 2-D echo with M-mode, color flow, cardiac Doppler
  • Stress echocardiography
  • Transesophageal echocardiography
• Perform other cardiovascular diagnostic tests:
  • EKGs, Event Monitor applications, Cardiac Monitor applications
  • Pulmonary Function Tests, Lower Extremity Doppler Studies, Stress Testing
• Record procedure data in patient charts and EMR systems
• Immediately inform physicians of life-threatening test results
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain cardiology equipment and accessories
• Perform supply inventory, clerical duties, patient transport, telephone support, and procedure billing logs
• Assist cardiovascular staff and participate in monthly cardiovascular meetings and CQI programs
• Supervise/instruct students and precept new employees
• Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities, Six Sigma methodology, and evaluations
• Ensure family-centered care and individual customer service recovery
• Demonstrate responsibility in diffusing negative situations
• Protect patient privacy in compliance with HIPAA guidelines
• Perform CPR as needed
