Assignment Overview

North Alabama Hospital, a Level 3 Trauma Center within the LifePoint Health system, is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Urologist to provide locum tenens coverage. This is an ongoing vacancy while the facility conducts a permanent search. The role requires both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities with hospital/surgery center privileges.

• Practice Setting: Inpatient + Outpatient

• Daily Census: 20 patients per shift

• Beds in Department: 3

• Rounding: Both inpatient and clinic required

• EMR Systems: Athena & Meditech

• Credentialing: 30 days (temporary privileges available)

• License Requirement: Active AL license or IMLC- IPL will help with AL licensure.

Call Coverage

• Call Type: Beeper

• Response Time: 30 minutes

• Phone Consults: 5 per day

• Patients Seen: 25 per day

• Admissions: 1 per day

• Call Ratio: TBD

• Locums Call: Both clinic and hospital

• Support Staff: 1 NP/PA, 3 MAs, 3 Office Staff

• Supervision: No APP or resident supervision required

• Holiday Coverage: 4th of July, Thanksgiving, New Year s, Memorial Day, Christmas, Labor Day
