Victory Healthcare Communications is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented freelance Proofreader to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for proofreading pharmaceutical content to ensure clarity and accuracy before submission. You must be proficient in basic and advanced grammar rules and understand how they are used within client brand style guides. Our ideal candidate is meticulous in reviewing copy, noting errors such as punctuation, spelling, and word usage, and knows how to check for accuracy and proper citation. You must communicate effectively with the writers and staff to ensure documents meet all company guidelines.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Proofread pharmaceutical materials for grammar, accuracy and consistency (spelling, punctuation, formatting, proper citations, etc.) according toAMA 11 styleand client brand guidelines.
- Review materials at multiple stages (before client review, promotional review, final proof, etc.), providing editorial guidance to improve content quality and ensure accuracy of all projects.
- Correct errors and edit documents using markup tools in Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Word, etc.
- Fact-check information and sources (when appropriate).
- Ensure accuracy of reference citations according toAMAguidelines.
- Follow project timelines and work with Victory creative and editorial teams to ensure all deadlines are met
- Assist with MLR/Promotional Review submissions as needed
Experience & Skills:
- At least 12 years proven experience as a Proofreader. Medical, Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical experience is a plus.
- Expertunderstanding of written English (grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc.)required
- Knowledge of standard proofreading marks, practices, and procedures.
- Must have a knowledge ofAMA 11 guidelines or capacity to learn quickly.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams under tight deadlines
Technical & Computer Skills:
- Expertise working in an Apple/Macintosh computer environment, as well as Apple software.
- Expertise working in Adobe Acrobat.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Sharepoint, Teams, Copilot).
- Knowledge of Google Workspace (Calendar, Sheets, Slides, Docs, Meet, and Gmail).
- Experience with project management tools (Filemaker, Monday.com) is a plus.
- Proficiency with Veeva CRM and Veeva Vault PromoMats is a plus.
