General Surgery Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner

Job Responsibilities
As a valued member of the general surgery team, you will:
- Provide pre- and post-operative care in both clinic and inpatient settings
- First assist in surgical procedures alongside experienced surgeons
- Support continuity of care through rounding, consults, and discharge planning
- Participate in 3–6 surgical call days per month, contributing to comprehensive coverage
- Collaborate closely with two physicians and another experienced APP to ensure patient-centered outcomes
- Document and communicate effectively within an integrated care team
Minimum Qualifications
- Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the state of Iowa
- Certification through NCCPA (for PA) or national board certification (for NP)
- Surgical or procedural experience preferred; however, new graduates with strong clinical rotations in surgery are encouraged to apply
- Excellent communication, adaptability, and teamwork skills required
