Retail Store Manager Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated and reliable individual to join our team as a Retail Store Manager. This role is hands-on and central to the daily operations of our shop. You’ll lead sales on the floor, handle merchandising and inventory, and perform basic snowboard and skateboard setup services. In addition, you’ll support our ecommerce team with product listings and other detail-oriented tasks that keep our online shop running smoothly. This is an ideal position for someone who loves board sports, thrives in a small team environment, and is ready to take ownership of the store experience.

Retail Store Manager Duties and Responsibilities

• Merchandise the store and check in new product shipments

• Lead by example as the primary sales associate on the floor

• Grip and assemble skateboards, mount snowboard bindings, and perform basic waxing/tuning services

• Assist the ecommerce team with creating and maintaining product listings (includes repetitive and detail-heavy tasks)

• Provide excellent customer service—greeting, recommending gear, and resolving issues to ensure customer satisfaction

• Operate the point-of-sale system, handle cash/credit transactions, and maintain accurate registers

• Support inventory management, including organizing stock and participating in counts

• Maintain store cleanliness and organization on a daily basis

Retail Store Manager Requirements and Qualifications

• Multiple years of retail experience, including sales and customer service

• Snowboard knowledge and hands-on experience

• Skateboard knowledge and ability to grip/assemble boards

• Basic skills with snowboard setup, binding mounts, and tuning/waxing

• Comfort with computers and detail-oriented data entry (for ecommerce tasks)

• Strong organizational and communication skills

• Availability and consistency are essential—we’re a small team and depend on reliability

• Willingness to work weekends and during busy seasonal periods

Compensation & Growth

• Starting pay: $22–$25 per hour, depending on experience

• This is a new and growing business, and we are looking for long-term employees who want to grow with us

• Pay will increase as the store becomes more successful

• The position has potential to develop into a full-time, year-round salaried role for the right candidate
