Job Description
The HR Specialist will support ownership, and management, regarding HR matters and a few office tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities - include but are not limited to the following:
1. Provides HR support to the management teams for all Home Zone Furniture Operations.
2. Assist HR by developing and maintaining office and company policies, updated company and HZ annual handbooks, employee files, operations, onboarding, orientation and training and other procedures, as necessary.
3. Conducts/Audits the onboarding process for proper documentation
4. Conducts/ Audits the termination process for proper terminations across all systems software’s
5. Conducts/ Audits proper insurance deductions for all employees
6. Assist with the process and verifying FMLA and Unpaid leave paperwork
7. Ensures all software systems are updated to reflect correct employee information across the board
8. Processes 401-K files weekly and ensures information is correct and ties
9. Processes insurance monthly payables and weekly insurance check registries
10. Handle internal inquiries, complaints, injuries, and workers’ compensation
11. Develops and maintains company policies and procedures, and ensure they are implemented appropriately after approval and making sure all files are complete and organized as expected
12. Perform review and analysis of duties, tasks, and projects and keeps management properly informed.
13. Payroll support as needed
14. Maintain and update all office and company insurance policies.
15. Other duties may be assigned based on the needs of the company in any department, as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements:

· High school or equivalent (Required)
· Human Resource Bachelor's degree (Plus)
· Human Resource Certifications ( Required)
· At least 4-6 years of Human Resource Experience (required)
· Experience in ExponentHR – Software (Required)
· Previous Human Resources experience in Texas
· Ability to show thorough knowledge of HR principles and federal/local regulations through questions, discussions and completed tasks
· Very strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills are essential
· Takes ownership of job responsibilities with personal pride and accountability
· Experience with multiple locations and/or departments preferred but not required
· Very prompt, hardworking and loves what they do
· Ability to work independently with little supervision required
· Ability to remain calm while working under pressure in a busy environment
· Ability to work within timeframe of standard policies and procedures and not miss deadlines/due dates
· Ability to maintain confidentiality related to sensitive company and employee information
· Excellent ability to multi-task, prioritize, and problem solve in a busy, fast paced environment
· Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point is essential
